Carnival games
A carnival game gives you a line, a prize table, and a reason for an uncle to play announcer. It does not replace the moonwalk.
School carnivals and church fall festivals run on booths: a ball toss, a ring, a milk can, something that makes a ticket feel spent. Austin Bounce House Rentals rents those games as their own category. They are not inflatables, or not only inflatables, and they are not in the moonwalk catalog on this site. If the flyer says “games and a jumper,” you are booking two kinds of things. The jumper is over in the moonwalk list. The booths are here, as a pointer to the real inventory.
What you are taking on is staffing and prizes. A game without a volunteer is a table the children rearrange. A game without a prize is a lecture. The rental is the equipment. Tickets, stuffed animals, candy, and the person who says “step right up” without being unbearable are the host’s. Confirm on the item page what arrives in the truck — the board, the pieces, the backdrop — and what you are expected to supply. Do not promise a midway you have not read.
Space is horizontal and ordinary. You need a patch of floor or grass per game, a path for the line that does not cross the moonwalk exit, and a table for prizes that is not the cake table. Indoor cafeterias do this well. Outdoors, wind will take a light backdrop and sun will take the volunteer. Weight the booth the way the company tells you. A carnival game is a sad kite if you treat the stakes as optional.
Age fit is kinder than a tall slide. Many games work for a wide span if the rules shrink for the little kids: stand closer, bigger target, a prize for trying. Write that down so every volunteer runs the same version. Older kids will find the loophole in a ring toss in under a minute. That is fine if the prize budget assumed they would.
Pairing with a moonwalk is the usual school plan. Put the jumper where the noise and the line can sit beside the gym, and put the quiet games nearer the door. One outlet for the moonwalk does not power a string of booth lights. If you need light or a concession machine, look at the power and concession categories instead of overloading the blower plug.
Weather is less dramatic than with a slide and still real. Paper scorecards, small balls, and fabric backdrops do not love a Central Texas downpour. The reschedule conversation, if you have inflatables on the same order, follows the company’s weather policy. Games alone may be a different call. Ask when you book rather than inventing a rule on this page.
There is no guide rate here because the games are not one price and the date still moves. Open the carnival category on Austin Bounce House Rentals, choose the booths you can staff, and reserve them there. If the only thing the birthday kid asked for is a character jumper, you can skip the midway and stay with the moonwalk.
