Field note 05
Weather
Central Texas will offer you a blue morning and a mean afternoon. A moonwalk cares about both.
Wind, lightning, rain, and heat are the four reasons a bounce day changes. This guide will not invent a wind-speed cutoff, a rain credit, or a reschedule rule. Those live on Austin Bounce House Rentals, and they are the rules that count. Read them before you need them: the weather page on the booking site.
Wind and lightning
An inflated moonwalk is a sail with children in it. If the unit is shifting, leaning, or trying to leave the stakes, get everyone out and call the company. Do not add your own ropes to a fence and hope. Lightning is simpler: off the vinyl, inside the house, blower included once people are clear and you have reached the crew. A backyard is not a shelter.
Rain
Light rain and a moonwalk can sometimes coexist, and sometimes they should not. Wet vinyl is slick, wet grass eats stakes, and a soaked unit is heavier at pickup. The decision is the company’s, on the day, under their policy. If the radar looks serious the night before, call (512) 765-6071 instead of waiting to see who blinks first.
Heat
August in Austin is its own weather category. A moonwalk in full sun becomes a vinyl room. Shade, water breaks, shoes off but socks on, and shorter turns matter more than the artwork. The blower moves air; it is not air conditioning. Plan the party clock around the heat you actually have, and keep an adult at the door who is willing to end a turn early.
If you need to move the date, do it through Austin Bounce House Rentals. A note on this website does not hold a truck.
