Field note 06
Safety
A moonwalk is a soft room with a fan. It stays safe when the rules stay boring.
The operating rules belong to Austin Bounce House Rentals. Their safety page is the one that governs a rental: Moonwalk safety on the booking site. What follows is a plain-language briefing so you know what you are agreeing to before you leave this guide.
The unit itself
Enclosed moonwalks in this catalog use mesh windows so kids can be seen and so fingers have a harder time finding a place to pinch. The entrance is a step or ramp, not a leap from the grass. Air comes from a blower that stays running. If the walls go soft, people get out.
The door rules
- Shoes off. Socks are the normal answer. Bare feet and grass burs are a bad mix.
- No flips, no wrestling, no piling on. The vinyl is not a gymnastics floor.
- No sharp objects, glasses, jewelry that snags, food, drinks, or silly string.
- No pets in the unit, and no climbing the outside walls.
- An adult is present the whole time anyone is inside. The adult is watching, not jumping.
Mixing the group
Keep similar sizes together. The who-jumps note is the longer version. Capacity guides on each moonwalk page are typical loads for the footprint, and they are not a challenge to hit the maximum.
If something tears, leans, or loses power, unload the moonwalk and call (512) 765-6071. Tape, rope, and a borrowed fan are not repairs.
